The Winter Party is bringing heat to South Beach this weekend.
The Winter Party Festival is an annual fundraiser where a portion of the proceeds support the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force's efforts to take action and create change for the LGBT community. Much of the money raised is distributed to organizations in South Florida that support that cause.
The WPF kicked off Wednesday night with a reception on the rooftop of the Gale Hotel on South Beach.
On Saturday a pool party will be held at the National Hotel, the host hotel for the event. On Sunday thousands of people will be dancing on the sands of South Beach at the signature event, the beach party.
A variety of nighttime events are happening at nightclubs on South Beach and in downtown Miami.
A VIP reception on Friday night at the The James Royal Palm Hotel will honor long-time community advocate Dave Cook for his many years of service to the LGBT community, including contributing to Winter Party since the beginning.
For the first time this year, the Winter Party will host a Friday afternoon tea dance at Ocean Drive’s popular Clevelander Hotel. This event is free.
Some Winter Party events are already sold out but you can see what tickets are still available at winterparty.com.
