Miami Heat president Pat Riley wasted little time picking up the pieces after LeBron James left. According to Yahoo! Sports and the Associated Press, the Heat and power forward Chris Bosh have agreed to a 5-year, $118 million deal. Bosh confirmed his return to the Heat on Twitter, saying, "Ready for the next challenge in my career. #HeatNation goes on!"

The Houston Rockets were trying to sign Bosh throughout the free agent signing period. Houston offered Bosh a max contract (4-years, $96 million) to join up with Dwight Howard and James Harden for a Houston-sized Big Three.

Houston cleared enough salary cap space to afford the contract earlier Friday when it traded Jeremy Lin to the Los Angeles Lakers. The Rockets are expected to spend the money intended for Bosh to retain restricted free agent Chandler Parsons.

Bosh’s return is expected to be a precursor to Dwyane Wade re-signing with the Heat as well. There were reports earlier Friday after LeBron announced his intent to leave for Cleveland that the Chicago Bulls were inquiring about Wade possibly joining that squad. Wade is a native of Chicago.
