Woman Arrested for Running Over 65-Year-Old Kendall Woman

Police have arrested a woman in the killing of a Kendall woman who was found murdered outside her home over the weekend, the same day another suspect in the murder was shot during a confrontation with officers.

Liz Corcho, 33, was arrested Thursday and charged with the murder of 65-year-old Vicki Feeley on October 22 in the area of Southwest 128th Court and 112th Terrace, Miami-Dade Police said Friday.

Corcho was taken into custody in Homestead after she tried to cash a check belonging to Feeley at a bank, police said.

Investigators said Corcho and 27-year-old Carlos Mojica were driving a pickup truck around the shopping center looking for a victim to rob, when they saw Feeley enter a store. Corcho and Mojica parked their vehicle, waited for Feeley to exit the store, and followed her home. As Feeley was unloading her vehicle, Mojica and Corcho pulled up to the driveway.

Mojica exited the vehicle and grabbed Feeley's purse, demanding that she let it go. While struggling for her purse, Mojica dragged the her back to his truck and Mojica jumped into the passenger seat. Corcho, who was driving, accelerated to flee while the Feeley held on to the purse. She was dragged several feet before falling underneath the vehicle and was ran over.

Feeley was transported to a nearby hospital where she later died.

Corcho is charged with first degree murder with a deadly weapon. Charges are pending at this time for Carlos Mojica. It's not known whether they have hired lawyers.

Mojica was injured in a police-involved shooting in Florida City Thursday after he allegedly tried to run over officers in a stolen truck.

Officers opened fire, hitting Mojica and sending him to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement is investigating the shooting.
