A car is pulled from a canal in Sunrise after an elderly woman drove into the canal.

A woman who was pulled out of her car after it went into a Sunrise canal Saturday night has died, police said.

Dolores Martinez, 80, died Sunday, a day after she was pulled from the water near Sunrise Lake Boulevard and Northwest 105th Lane.

Rescuers had pulled her from the submerged car Saturday night and rushed her to Westside Regional Medical Center in critical condition.

Police are still trying to determine what caused the accident.
