A woman was found dead with gunshot wounds to the head in a Southwest Miami neighborhood, police say.
According to Miami Police Department spokesperson Rene Pimentel, a neighbor called authorities around 4:30 a.m. Saturday morning after hearing shots fired near the 1800 block of Southwest 14th Terrace.
Pimentel says a woman, who is in her 40s or 50s and appears to be Hispanic, was found on the sidewalk with several gunshot wounds to the head. She was wearing a gray tank top, blue jeans and a gold necklace.
Since she was discovered still wearing a gold necklace, police believe this may indicate she was not robbed.
The woman had no identification or anything in her pockets, but police believe she is not a local resident.
