Authorities are investigating after a 19-year-old woman was shot and killed in Dania Beach Tuesday.
The shooting happened shortly before 3:30 p.m. in the 700 block of Southwest 4th Terrace, Broward Sheriff's Office officials said.
Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue rushed the woman to Memorial Regional Hospital where she later died from her injuries.
The woman's identity hasn't been released.
BSO said the shooting happened in the apartment she shared with her 20-year-old boyfriend. Homicide detectives said they spent the evening questioning him but he gave multiple, inconsistent stories to explain the shooting.
The boyfriend told detectives an unknown assailant had driven up, shot his girlfriend and fled in a getaway car.
The investigation is ongoing, but detectives said they are confident there is no shooter at large.
