Woman Gets 30 Years for Boyfriend's Murder

A South Florida woman has been sentenced to 30 years in prison for luring her boyfriend to his death.

The Palm Beach Post reports that Adriana Rodriguez pleaded guilty Tuesday to second-degree murder as part of a deal with prosecutors. She had previously been sentenced to life, but her first-degree murder conviction was overturned in August.

Authorities say Rodriguez lured 17-year-old Maciel Videla to a bar where two men she knew were going to kill him in 2011. Rodriguez has claimed she thought the men were going to beat up Videla. Instead, they drove him to a remote location, slit his throat, stabbed him repeatedly and dumped his body in a canal.

Alfredo Sotelo-Gomez is currently serving life for Videla's murder. Another suspect was not captured.
