Woman Hid Cocaine in Kidney Beans, Nuts

Woman hid 13 pounds of cocaine inside pistachios and kidney beans

One South Florida airline passenger's nuts weren't all they were cracked up to be after a quick inspection by a customs agent.

Bianca Elithz Vicenty-Robles was arrested over the weekend and accused of smuggling more than 13 pounds of cocaine in two bags of pistachio nuts and three bags of kidney beans, the South Florida Sun-Sentinel reported.

According to an arrest report, Vicenty-Robles arrived at Hollywood-Fort Lauderdale International Airport on Saturday on a flight from Colombia, when a customs inspector questioned the woman about her carry-on bag.

Inside the suitcase looked pretty normal, but the thorough inspector decided to check one of the kidney beans. A quick cut later revealed the blow inside the bean, the report said.

Authorities said Vicenty-Robles quickly confessed to smuggling the drugs, but claimed she only agreed to it because the people who told her to do it threatened to harm her family.

She faces cocaine distribution charges.
