Woman Killed After Shooting in Goulds Neighborhood

A shooting in Southwest Miami-Dade left one woman dead and another injured late Friday night, police say.

Shortly after 9 p.m., officers responded to a 911 call of shots fired at 12045 SW 218 St., in the Goulds neighborhood of Miami.

Officers arrived to the area to find a silver sedan had crashed into a tree, according to Miami-Dade Police Department spokesperson Jennifer Capote. Officers found two females suffering from gunshot wounds inside the vehicle.

Investigators believe the vehicle the women were in, had been shot prior to crashing into the tree in front of the home.

Capote says Miami-Dade Fire Rescue transported both women to Jackson Memorial Hospital South. One woman suffered a gunshot wound to her left leg and is expected to recover. The other woman sustained a gunshot wound to her abdomen and later died at the hospital.
