A woman faces charges after she left only $5 for a bill of almost $65 at a Delray Beach restaurant and then kicked officers when they approached her, authorities said.

Norma Brownstein, 61, was arrested on March 27, on charges including battery on an officer, resisting officer with violence and defrauding an innkeeper. It wasn’t immediately known if she had an attorney.

Brownstein argued with the manager of the Buddha Garden over the restaurant bill. Authorities said the manager told them she left only $5 for her meal and drinks, which cost $64.66.

She had placed several bills in the check caddy but then went back and took all the money, leaving only the $5, the arrest report said.

Officers were trying to resolve the situation when she starting yelling and swearing, the report said.
She had glassy eyes and smelled of an alcoholic drink.

She said, “I’m not paying for this,” and starting walking away into the crowded street, the report said.
Officers followed her to put her in handcuffs and she kicked one of the officers in the leg, the report said.

While in a temporary holding facility, she continued to swear and threaten their jobs, the report said.

As Brownstein was being searched later on, she kick another officer in the leg and threw her earring at another.
