A woman was left in critical condition after a crash sent a vehicle into a canal in Miami Gardens Sunday afternoon.
According to Florida Highway Patrol, three cars were involved in the incident, which took place at the intersection of Northwest 27th Avenue and Northwest 203rd Street.
Officials said a Lexus SUV collided with a Jeep before driving through a chain link fence, colliding with a third vehicle and veering into a canal.
The SUV was fully submerged when nearby troopers and officers hopped into the canal and rescued the driver, police say.
The driver is currently in critical condition at Aventura Hospital. Her name wasn't released.
The crash remains under investigation.
