A woman was arrested after witnesses told authorities that she locked a 4-year-old boy in a roach-infested kitchen cabinet for hours at a time, Polk County Sheriff’s Office said.
Lori Hamilton, 42, of Lakeland, was arrested Thursday and charged with child abuse. She remains in jail without bond. The relationship between Hamilton wasn't immediately known.

Deputies said Hamilton locked the cabinet with screws to prevent the boy from escaping because “he kept her up at night,” the arrest report said.
On several occasions, the boy cried to be let out and was forced to defecate and urinate on himself, deputies said. He also sustained roach and spider bites.
During an interview, Hamilton told authorities she locked the 4-year-old inside on four occasions that lasted for only 20 minutes, according to the report.
It wasn't immediately known if she had an attorney.
