Women Targeted in Crash, Shooting

Police search for car that rammed women in Pembroke Pines

Two women are lucky to be alive after a terrifying encounter on the streets of Pembroke Pines Thursday night.

Police say the women were riding in their car in the 300 block of Southwest 96th Ave. just after 9 p.m. when a black Chevy Tahoe with dark tinted windows began following them.

The Tahoe passed them, abruptly stopped, then drove in reverse, smashing into the front end of their car.

When the Tahoe made a U-turn and got behind the car again, one of the people in the Tahoe got out and fired a bullet into the car before the SUV sped off, police said.

Neither of the women was injured, and it's unknown why the women were targeted. A police search of the area turned up nothing.

Police are asking anyone with information to call Broward County CrimeStoppers at 954-493-TIPS.
