Women's March Rally Draws More Than 1,000 In Wynwood

More than 1,000 activists gathered at a Women's March rally in Wynwood Sunday, waving signs and cheering for equal rights during the event aimed at expanding voter access and ending voter suppression, according to a news release.

The "'Power to the Polls' Women's Day of Action" event was organized by Women's March Florida members. The event was held at Mana Wynwood on January 21, "the one-year anniversary of the largest political protest in recent U.S. history."

The rally comes as more demonstrations in support of female empowerment take place around the world. On Saturday, a host of marches and protests -- several of them massive -- marked the anniversary of President Donald Trump's inauguration.

The large group of activists in Wynwood did not march as of early Sunday afternoon, but there was still some impact on traffic.
