Fort Lauderdale Police are investigating after a young woman was shot and killed Sunday night.
The shooting happened around 7:30 p.m. in the 700 block of Northwest 3rd Avenue. When officers responded to the address, they found a woman unconscious and heavily bleeding, officials said.
The woman was taken to Broward Health Medical Center where she later died. Police later identified her as 18-year-old Lakendra Jones.
Detectives are investigating the shooting and are asking anyone with information to call Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS.
