Days after another non-travel case was discovered in the city, along with five others in a new transmission zone in Miami-Dade County, Miami Beach will go through another round of ground spraying for the next month and a half.
The countyโs Mosquito Control division announced plans to resume spraying during weekdays at the following locations:
- Mondays (10/17 through 11/21) โ West of Washington Ave. to Biscayne Bay from 8th Street to 29th Street from 2 AM to 5:30 AM
- Tuesdays (10/18 to 11/29) โ East of Washington Ave. to the Atlantic Ocean from South Pointe to 29th Street from 3 AM to 6 AM
- Wednesdays (10/19 to 11/30) โ 69th Street to 87th Terrace from Atlantic Ocean to Biscayne Bay from 2:30 AM to 5:30 AM
- Thursdays (10/20 to 11/24) โ 29th Street to 69th Street from Atlantic Ocean to Biscayne Bay from 12 AM to 5:30 AM
- Fridays (10/21 to 11/25) โ Islands along MacArthur and Venetian Causeways from 2:30 AM to 5:30 AM
Additionally, spraying will take place both this Saturday and Sunday between 29th Street and 69th Street from the Atlantic Ocean to Biscayne Bay from 12 AM to 5:30 AM.
Officials were quick to let citizens know that there will be no Naled being used during any of these spraying times. The pesticide was used during aerial spraying, a move that was met with protests from residents and others who work in the city.
