Zoo Wants Your Unwanted Exotic Animals

It's time to turn over those exotic pets you can't take care of anymore

Britney Spears is probably the only person who can make walking around with a live albino Burmese Python look hot (you hear that, Big Snake Dude walking around South Beach?).

But we're not in 2001 anymore, and chances are you're not going to be performing at the VMA's anytime soon - so it's time to get rid of those exotic pets.

If you've got a python or two hanging out around your house, and can't take care of it anymore, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission wants them.

The FWC and Miami MetroZoo are hosting Nonnative Pet Amnesty Day on Saturday. It's the one day a year you can bring your nonnative fish, invertebrates, reptiles, and birds without having to answer any questions.

The event is free, and organizers say it's the smart alternative to turning these exotic animals loose in the wild.
