A Miami man was arrested for stealing a car from a crash scene and driving under the influence, authorities said.

Richard Jouel Abraham, 35, was arrested Thursday by deputies with the Collier County Sheriff's Office, and he faces charges including grand theft of a motor vehicle and DUI and damage property. He was still in jail on Friday, according to online records.

Early Thursday, the Florida Highway Patrol issued a "be on the lookout" for a 2006 black BMW, which had been stolen from a crash scene in Broward County and was traveling westbound on Interstate 75, authorities said.

The details of the crash scene and how the car was stolen weren't immediately available from authorities.

The car was stopped on westbound I-75 at mile marker 86 by authorities, and it was determined that Abraham was under the influence, an FHP press release said.

It wasn't immediately known if he had an attorney.
