One way to avoid waiting nine hours in 24-degree temperatures with a group of strangers and still see the ball drop in Times Square: pay hundreds for a ticket to a nearby chain restaurant. New Year's Eve tickets are still available at both of the Times Square Applebee’s for $375. Instead of lining up at 3 p.m. for the midnight show, ticket holders can breeze past security and into the restaurant at 9 p.m. for a buffet dinner, open bar, deejay, live entertainment, party favors and a midnight Champagne toast, NBC News reported. Partygoers bought $679 tickets as early as September for the celebration at Bubba Gump Shrimp Co., one of the few restaurants with panoramic views of the festivities. That party is sold out, but tickets are available for TGI Fridays ($225 to $1,095) and Ruby Tuesday ($295).
