Campaign Denies Trump Stopped From Tweeting

Trump's tweetstorms and retweets, often targeting his critics, have gotten him in trouble and inflicted damage on his campaign

Donald Trump's campaign manager said on morning news shows Monday that it's not true that Trump's staff has stopped the candidate from tweeting.

Trump has exhibited unusual restraint on social media in the final days of the campaign. The New York Times reported on Sunday that aides "have finally wrested away" his Twitter account.

President Barack Obama seized on the report at a voter rally in Florida, telling the crowd that anyone who can't be trusted with a Twitter account shouldn't be trusted with control of the America's nuclear weapons.

Trump's tweetstorms and retweets, often targeting his critics, have gotten him in trouble and inflicted damage on his campaign.

When asked Monday about the Times report by NBC's "Today" show, campaign manager Kellyanne Conway said: "No, it's not true."

On MSNBC's "Morning Joe," Conway insisted that Trump has his phone with him and will probably call her after her appearance on the show is over.

She told host Mika Brzezinski: "It's a mystery to all of us when this man sleeps, so I'm sure he's watching us right now and then he will call Mika or me afterwards."
