Drexel University in Philadelphia suspended a fraternity while campus police investigate reports of two sexual assaults.

The alleged assaults occurred at the off-campus Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity house on Powelton Avenue between April 28 and May 4.

The university sent out a Public Safety Advisory to the campus community on May 5 about the incidents. On Tuesday, Drexel announced TKE's interim suspension.

"Drexel does not tolerate sexual harassment or misconduct, in any form, and adheres to all federal, state and local requirements for intervention, crime reporting and privacy provisions related to sexual misconduct," the university said in a statement.

Fraternity officials say they're cooperating with the investigation. Alex Baker, the TKE national spokesman, said that the fraternity is extremely serious about every misconduct allegation it receives.

"Tau Kappa Epsilon is aware of an alleged incident at Drexel University," Baker said. "Based on the outcomes of any investigation, we will handle this situation with appropriate action."

Drexel University Police and the Office of Equality and Diversity are investigating. Philadelphia Police said they are not involved.

University officials asked anyone with more information on either incident to contact Drexel police at 215-895-2222.
