A South Florida man admitted to stealing $40,000 worth of Beats by Dre headphones from his boss because he felt he was being underpaid, the Broward Sheriff's Office said.

The Sun Sentinel reports that 27-year-old David Anthony Hunter was arrested Wednesday and charged with grand theft.

An arrest report says Hunter told investigators he was tired of what he was making at his online retail job based in Hollywood.

The business owner told deputies that Hunter made $8 an hour labeling packages to be shipped. He had taken about 425 pairs of headphones, most of which were returned.

Hunter was being held on $2,500 bail. Jail records didn't list an attorney.
