An 86-year-old man shot his grandson in the head and then killed the man's girlfriend inside a home on Staten Island before fatally shooting himself, authorities say.
Heriberto Pagan shot his 47-year-old grandson outside of a house at 455 Virginia Ave. Friday evening before shooting 28-year-old Claritle Christina Huerta in the head inside, officials said. Huerta was pronounced dead at a hospital.
Police say Pagan then fled to his car, at Rockwell and Clifton avenues, and shot himself in the head. He was found lying outside of his car.
His grandson, who has not been identified, is in stable condition.
The couple's 4-month-old son was found unharmed inside the house.
The child is in the custody of the Administration for Children's Services.
Police say a motive for the shootings isn't yet clear.
