Dolphins and Publix Team Up to Give Kids Thanksgiving Dinner Shopping Spree

Former and current Dolphins players help give back to needy South Florida kids

A group of 100 South Florida kids stormed a Fort Lauderdale Publix Monday night to go on a Thanksgiving shopping spree with the Miami Dolphins.

With $100 each to spend, the underprivileged elementary students from Miami-Dade and Broward stocked up on some food for Thanksgiving at the Publix at 601 S. Andrews Avenue.

Local celebrities helped out, like injured Miami Dolphins quarterback Chad Henne and players Jason Taylor, Yeremiah Bell and Dan Carpenter.

"We have fun with them," Henne said. "We try to give them a meal for Thanksgiving and enjoy some smiles tonight."

The Dolphins and Publix team up every year for the event.

"It's about those who are blessed having the chance to give back," former player Nat Moore said.
