Florida Immigrant Activists Urge Obama to Go Big

Florida advocates urged President Barack Obama to help the largest number of people with his expected announcement on immigration.

Episcopal Bishop Leo Frade on Wednesday compared the generous reception immigrant pilgrims received when they arrived in America to the policy he hoped the president would issue.

Obama is expected to announce Thursday executive orders that would give a temporary reprieve to millions of people in the country illegally.

During a rally at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral in Miami, college senior Julio Calderon spoke about his fears of being deported. Calderon arrived in the United States from Honduras in 2006. He didn't qualify for an earlier executive order for youth because he was one month over the cutoff age of 16. He hopes he won't be left out this time.
