The slow leak of details on just what a sad mess Alex Rodriguez allegedly is continue, with claims that the superstar third baseman demanded help brushing his teeth and tried to get fresh with his teammates wives and girlfriends.

"He would use these corny pickup lines on a guy's wife," an ex-teammate told New York Times reporter Selena Roberts, author of "A-Rod," according to The New York Daily News. "He just wanted to know that he could, not that he would act on it. Seemed like an ego thing."

And though he didn't close the deal with any of these women, he is said to have visited a sex club in Texas during a road trip with the Yanks while his wife Cynthia was home in New York pregnant with their first child.

Apparently, Rodriguez's twin obsessions -- himself and Derek Jeter -- would often come together in the wince-inducing pick-up line "Who's hotter, me or Derek Jeter?" teammates told Roberts.

Additionally, some poor clubhouse attendant was said to be put to the humiliating task of loading the superstar's toothbrush with toothpaste when he played for the Texas Rangers.

Yesterday's initial round of bombshell allegations from the Daily News -- that A-Rod may have juiced from high school to the Bronx and that he tipped pitches to opposing batters -- has forced publisher HarperCollins to push up the release date of Roberts' book from May 12 to Monday.
