Chris Bosh flew to Miami late Wednesday night so he could witness the birth of his child. As a result, he may miss the Heat's game at the New York Knicks in Madison Square Garden Thursday night.

According to the Miami Herald, Bosh left New York just hours after the Heat arrived in the city at 6:30 pm on Wednesday, arriving back in South Florida at around 2 am.

Bosh's child was born just after 3 am, so it is not out of the realm of possibility that he can return to New York in time for the 7pm tipoff. TNT's David Aldridge reported Thursday morning that Bosh will be back for Game 3.

ESPN.com has also reported that the Heat plan on having Bosh back for Game 3. The Heat has not commented publicly on the situation.

In case Bosh cannot return, Heat coach Erik Spoelstra could slide Udonis Haslem to Bosh's power forward spot and have Joel Anthony start at center. Ronny Turiaf could also slide into the center role instead of Anthony.

Alternatively, he could employ a small lineup, shifting LeBron James to power forward and starting either Shane Battier or James Jones at small forward.

Bosh's wife, Adrienne, tweeted Thursday morning, "From a Dream to a Thought to Reality to being in our Arms. Thank you all for the positive wishes and thoughts." It is the first child the two have had. Bosh has one child from a previous marriage.
