Linebacker Kevin Burnett is frustrated his Miami Dolphins can't seem to win a football game, but he seems to think nobody else is entitled to express that same frustration.
After Miami's fourth straight loss to start the season Sunday, Burnett began chewing out a beat reporter in the Dolphins locker room at Qualcomm Stadium. According to the Miami Herald, Burnett was mad at the (unnamed) reporter for writing something critical about him.
"If you've got something to say, come at me like a man, homeboy," Burnett said. "Don't hide behind no computer."
Pro Football Talk learned later that Sun-Sentinel reporter Omar Kelly was the target of Burnett's tantrum.
Even after a Dolphins official separated Burnett from the reporter, he kept going with his diatribe.
"Hey, if you want to see if I can tackle, you put on some pads, homeboy," he challenged the reporter.
Burnett offered an interesting take on the role of the media, asking "Why you're going to criticize the team in your own hometown, boy? You're supposed to support the home team."
With a statement like that, we would venture to guess that Burnett's favorite media outlet is Granma, the official newspaper of the Cuban Communist Party. Granma "supports the home team" every day.
But being a media member is not as easy as Burnett thinks. We challenge him to pull up a laptop or a microphone, homeboy, and tell us what's wrong with the Dolphins. It's so easy, Channing Crowder can do it.
