Dolphins Send Mike Wallace to Vikings

The Dolphins traded wide receiver Mike Wallace to the Minnesota Vikings on Friday

The Miami Dolphins traded wide receiver Mike Wallace to the Minnesota Vikings for a draft pick on Friday.

Coming back to Miami will be a fifth-round pick and the Dolphins will include their seventh rounder along with Wallace.

For weeks now, it appeared that Wallace's time in Miami was done. The team was non-committal to him and then made moves for other offensive weapons. Earlier on Friday, the Dolphins acquired Kenny Stills in a trade. This move came only one day after they signed tight end Jordan Cameron as well.

Wallace signed a five-year deal with the Dolphins prior to the 2013 season. In his two seasons with the Dolphins, Wallace was productive on the field. His ten touchdown receptions in 2014 led the team and he had 15 total in his two seasons.

In last season's finale, word went around that Wallace asked out of the game. This was something that the wide receiver denied at the time. The reports stated that Wallace was displeased with a lack of throws in his direction.

During the off-season, owner Stephen Ross was non-committal when asked if Wallace would return. This led to speculation that the team could end up shopping Wallace or even possibly release him.

With the money saved in this deal as well as the Stills trade, Miami could look to add another player to the offense.
