Dolphins Top Jags For 2nd Straight Win

The Dolphins won a second straight game on Sunday with their 27-13 victory over Jacksonville

The Miami Dolphins improved to 4-3 on the season with their 27-13 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday.

The win was the second in a row for Miami after failing to accomplish the feat thus far this season. The win also keeps Miami on pace with the New England Patriots who also were victorious on Sunday. The Patriots currently lead the AFC East but Miami holds the tiebreaker advantage over them with one game left between the teams.

Defense was key for the Dolphins with two interceptions returned for touchdowns. Louis Delmas opened up the second quarter with a pick at Miami's 19-yard line and returned it all the way for an 81-yard TD. Brent Grimes also had an interception that he took from the Jacksonville 22-yard line into the end zone.

Ryan Tannehill was 16-29 on his pass attempts for 196 yards. The quarterback who was coming off one of the best games of his NFL career threw one touchdown and one interception in this one. Tannehill was also sacked three times for 18 yards.

Tannehill also rushed for 49 yards on four carries which made this the third straight game that he ran for at least 48 yards. One of the runs was good for 30 yards which was also the longest for Lamar Miller in the game. Miller ended up with 78 yards on 14 carries of his own.

Rishard Matthews caught the lone offensive touchdown of the day and it was the wide receiver's first TD of the season.

The Dolphins will look for a third straight victory next Sunday at home against the San Diego Chargers at 1:00 p.m.
