Gordon Touches Them All as Marlins Top Champs

The Miami Marlins defeated the San Francisco Giants 5-3 on Tuesday in a game that featured a Dee Gordon inside-the-park home run.

Gordon raced around the bases for what his first home run as a Marlin. The inside-the-park homer was the first for Miami since 2010 when Cameron Maybin accomplished the feat. Gordon's time around the bases was clocked at just over 14 seconds by the television broadcast team. The home run brought home three runs in the second inning and was a big reason for Miami's win.

While Gordon stayed in the building for his home run, Justin Bour decided to visit the seats for one of his own. Bour launched a towering blast into the upper deck for his seventh home run of the season. With Mike Morse possibly days away from a return, Miami may have a tough decision to make in terms of playing time at first base.

J.T. Realmuto turned in a fine day at the dish as well with his three hits. The catcher lifted his average up to.250 and also continued to provide solid defense behind the plate.

Mat Latos earned his third win of the year by only allowing two earned runs in his six innings on the mound. The veteran struck out four, walked none and surrendered six hits along the way. After beginning the year with an abysmal outing, Latos has his E.R.A down to 5.27.

Carter Capps continued to dominant the opposition when he struck out the side in a perfect eighth inning. Capps has been striking hitters out with ease and has a minuscule 0.87 E.R.A this season.

A.J. Ramos slammed the door in the ninth for his 11th save since becoming Miami's closer.
