Heat Blow Early Lead in Loss to Pacers

The Heat led by ten after one quarter of play in their loss to the Pacers on Friday

The Miami Heat led early before falling to the Indiana Pacers 90-87 on Friday at Bankers Life Fieldhouse.

Miami took a ten-point advantage into the second quarter of play before Indiana tied things up before halftime. The Pacers would go on to outscore the Heat by three points in the third quarter, which ultimately was enough for the victory.

The Heat are now 3-3 on the season and have continued to win every other game this year. Thus far Miami is 1-2 away from AmericanAirlines Arena with their lone win coming on Thursday at Minnesota.

With the Heat battling in the final seconds, Tyler Johnson found himself on the free-throw line. Miami trailed by three at the time and Johnson missed his first attempt. Johnson would go on to drain the second, but it made Miami's comeback try more difficult.

Hassan Whiteside who has been brilliant this year had a rough night in the loss. The big man was only 4-10 on his shot attempts for eight points. Whiteside added 12 rebounds, but was overall a liability more than an asset on this night.

Chris Bosh helped keep Miami in the game with a strong night. Bosh had 21 points and 11 boards in 35 active minutes. Bosh was also solid from the charity stripe nailing six of his seven tries.

The Heat will take a day off before continuing their schedule on Sunday with a game against the Toronto Raptors.
