Heat Wish Dwyane Wade Speedy Recovery After “Heartbreaking” Injury

The Miami Heat is wishing its former star player Dwyane Wade a “speedy recovery” after suffering a season-ending injury during a game on Wednesday.

Wade, now a Chicago Bull, suffered a sprain and small fracture in his right elbow and will be sidelined for the remainder of the regular season, the team announced Thursday following an MRI.

Wade was injured during the second half of the Bull’s 98-91 loss to the Memphis Grizzles.

Wade attempted to play through the injury, but was sidelined with less than nine minutes remaining in the fourth quarter of the game.

Heat coach Erik Spoelstra called Wade’s injury “heartbreaking” during the team's practice on Thursday after hearing the about seriousness of his elbow injury.

"You know, one thing I know about Dwyane is that he's going to find a way to be motivated by this and he'll get back and he'll come back strong," said former teammate Udonis Haslem.

The team publicly sent Wade get well wishes via Twitter. 

Wade will reportedly return to the doctor in a week to re-evaluate his elbow injury and progress in rehab.
