Heat Halt Skid With Win Over Knicks

The Heat put a three-game losing streak to rest with their 109-95 win on Monday

The Miami Heat ended a three-game skid by beating the New York Knicks 109-95 on Monday at American Airlines Arena.

With the victory, Miami held onto eighth place in the Eastern Conference. The Heat also moved into a tie with seventh place Charlotte. The win at home was Miami's ninth of the year and its first since January 23rd.

Hassan Whiteside returned to the starting lineup but was only able to play 19 minutes total. Whiteside did do the most with that time however as he tallied seven points and nine rebounds along with a pair of blocks. It is likely that Whiteside's minutes will grow in Miami's next contest.

Chris Bosh had a big game for the Heat and is a key reason for the win. Bosh poured in 32 points and tied for the team lead in assists with six. Bosh also drained four of his six tries from downtown.

Mario Chalmers turned in one of his finer games of the season with 18 points and six assists of his own. Chalmers also contributed five rebounds in a much-needed effort from the veteran guard. As of late, Chalmers has struggled along with fellow point guards Shabazz Napier and Norris Cole.

Napier made the start and had only five points and three assists in 22 minutes. Coming off the bench, Cole had 12 points and eight assists in 29 minutes.

The Heat will wrap their first half up on Wednesday when they take on LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers at 8:00 p.m.
