Heat Open Scrimmage To Be Broadcasted Online

The Heat will stream their "Red, White and Pink" open scrimmage live on Wednesday evening

The Miami Heat will broadcast their annual open scrimmage live on their website on Wednesday evening.

The scrimmage is entitled the "Red, White and Pink Game" and is being presented by Baptist Health Breast Center. The scrimmage had pink added to it's theme this year as a way of taking part in Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

It is the first opportunity for fans to see this year's roster in action as they split in half and take each other on at AmericanAirlines Arena. It is also the unofficial start to the preseason schedule with the first actual opponent coming on Saturday.

The scrimmage will have the standard Heat broadcast team handling it with Eric Reid, Tony Fiorentino and Jason Jackson all a part of the online broadcast.

It's not likely that the starters play a large amount of minutes in scrimmage as the preseason is just getting started and leg strength has not been built up as of yet. Still, most players are expected to see time on the floor to put on a show for the fans at the arena and watching at home.

Defense is traditionally not a factor in the annual open scrimmage with the play almost being reminiscent of an All-Star game. Dunks, three-pointers and alley-oops will be the norm as players get loose and hone their shooting skills.

The online broadcast is set to start at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday and can be seen on Heat.com.
