Home Woes Continue for Heat in Loss to Grizzlies

The Heat fell to 2-6 at home this season with their loss to the Grizzlies on Saturday

The Miami Heat suffered another defeat at home with their 110-107 loss to the Memphis Grizzlies on Saturday.

Miami is now a paltry 2-6 at home this season and has actually played slightly better on the road. On Friday, the Heat beat the Grizzlies in Memphis to end a quick two-game slide. The Heat are now 5-11 overall this year and are currently near the bottom of the NBA standings.

Foul shots played a role in the loss with Memphis making 27 out of the 33 tries it had from the charity stripe. Miami meanwhile was 16-24 on the free throw attempts it had.

Making this loss tougher for Miami, was the fact that Dion Waiters put on quite a show. Waiters posted 28 points with six assists and five rebounds in the losing effort. The Heat were +7 while Waiters was on the court during the game.

Hassan Whiteside also had a good game after a brief two-game slump. Whiteside had missed double-doubles in back-to-back games after achieving that feat for most of the season. The center put another double-double in his column in this loss with 15 points and 12 rebounds.

With Goran Dragic unavailable, the Heat gave a start to Rodney McGruder and he answered the call with 11 points. McGruder also had four boards, two assists and a block. Dragic was out of action due to a strained left elbow and should be considered day-to-day.

The Heat will be back in action on Monday when they host the Boston Celtics at 7:30 p.m.
