It's good to be the king. LeBron James had an impressive 2012, winning his third MVP, first championship ring, and second Olympic gold medal (only the second person to win all three in the same calendar year - some other guy named Jordan did it in the nineties). James' year of win catapulted him atop the NBA jersey sales rankings, the league announced Wednesday.

The biannual list, based on sales at the NBA Store on Fifth Avenue and on NBAStore.com from April 2012 through Nov. 26, 2012, also includes fellow Heat star Dwyane Wade at number seven. Chris Bosh, the third member of the Big Three, did not make the 15-player list.

James last topped this list in April 2011, nine months after he spurned his hometown Cleveland Cavaliers to join forces with Wade and Bosh in Miami. Derrick Rose, who previously held the top spot, fell to number 5, while Oklahoma City star Kevin Durant (who was runner-up in the MVP vote earlier this year) jumped to the second spot.

Additionally, the Heat have the second-best-selling team jersey, just behind their rivals, the New York Knicks. The Knicks have the top spot for the first time since 2004. The Chicago Bulls were previously number one on this list.

This is the third time James has had the top-selling NBA jersey. Kobe Bryant of the LA Lakers has held the top spot six times. He is currently third on the list.

The Heat are one of five teams with multiple players on the list, along with the Lakers, LA Clippers, Boston Celtics, and Oklahoma City Thunder.
