Marlins’ Bullpen Falters Again Against Rays

Reliever Burke Badenhop gave up a walk, which resulted in a runner stealing second base, then advancing to third on a wild pitch and coming home on a sacrifice fly to lose the game for the Marlins in the bottom of the ninth.

For the second game in a row, the Marlins lost a game in which they were tied in the late innings.

This time, it was reliever Burke Badenhop who gave up a one-out single to Jason Bartlett, who ended up stealing second, taking third on a wild pitch and coming home on a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the ninth to give Tampa Bay a 3-2 over the Marlins.

The Rays have won four out of the last five games against the Marlins this season and nine out of the past 11 games overall.

The Marlins had a 2-0 lead going into the fifth inning which included a solo homerun by Brett Carroll.
