Marlins Complete Sweep of Braves

The Marlins beat the Braves 7-3 on Wednesday to complete a three-game sweep

The Miami Marlins moved into third place in the National League East when they beat the Atlanta Braves 7-3 on Wednesday.

The win gave Miami a series sweep over its division rival. The Marlins are now a half game ahead of the Braves, and 1.5 games up on the Philadelphia Phillies. This game also ended a brutal part of Miami's schedule that saw it play on 20 days in a row.

Adam Conley came away with the victory to improve to 3-1 on the year. The rookie worked himself out of multiple jams, and battled command issues. Conley ended up allowing three runs on four hits in five short innings. The 25-year old has a 5.02 E.R.A this year between time in the rotation and bullpen.

With a short start, Miami needed innings from its pen and it got four solid frames. Kyle Barraclough, Mike Dunn, Bryan Morris, and A.J. Ramos combined to allow one hit. The quartet walked one and struck out three.

Marcell Ozuna hit his eighth home run of the season as part of a three-run fifth inning. Ozuna doubled in Tuesday's game as well in what was a great series for the young outfielder. Ozuna had three runs batted in, and has been very productive since returning from AAA.

Doubles were common for Miami in the win as it tallied four total. Christian Yelich had two of those two-base hits as part of a four-hit day. Yelich ended up with seven hits in the three-game series. Jeff Mathis and Ichiro Suzuki also doubled in this one.

Miami will resume its schedule on Friday when it hosts the New York Mets. Tom Koehler is set to start in the series opener.
