The Miami Marlins continue to discuss potential trades and will open a three-game series with the Texas Rangers on Monday.

The Marlins could make a trade or two during the rare series in Arlington, with the trade deadline only one week away. Miami is in a selling mode and is looking to turn some veterans into prospects. The Marlins are not expected to trade core talent such as Giancarlo Stanton, Christian Yelich, Marcell Ozuna, Justin Bour or J.T. Realmuto.

One player who could head elsewhere this week is closer A.J. Ramos. The veteran has drawn interest from several contending teams and Miami figures to not have many save opportunities the rest of the way. Ramos was born in Texas and figures to have friends and relatives in the stands for this series. The homecoming could easily also represent Ramos' final series with Miami.

Adam Conley will start for Miami in the first game of the series and will look to string together a second straight quality start. After returning from AAA, Conley held the Philadelphia Phillies to two runs in six innings last time out. The lefty surrendered eight hits in that outing and will need to do a better job against a potent Texas lineup.

Dan Straily will be Miami's starter for the middle game of the series, following a disappointing outing against the Phillies. Straily had one of his poorest starts of the season against a team with baseball's worst record. The veteran has been in some trade rumors as well, but Miami is not expected to deal Straily. The right-hander has multiple years of team control remaining and the Marlins are already thin on pitching.

Jose Urena has been Miami's most surprising asset this season and will bring his 8-4 record into Texas. Urena owns a 3.78 E.R.A and has served as Miami's ace for much of the season, after beginning the year in the bullpen. With an affordable contract, the Marlins are not expected to trade Urena. If a contending team offers an attractive package, that could change however.
