The Marlins have been outscored 13-1 since routing the Diamondbacks Thursday night in a game that went down as Arizona’s largest blown lead in its history.

Saturday night, the Marlins were lackluster in a 5-1 loss against the Diamondbacks, pushing the second-place Marlins four games behind Philadelphia in the National League East.

The Marlins have one more game against the Diamondbacks today before the All-Star Break.

Then on Thursday, they begin a four-game series against the Phillies at home to a chance to even the gap.

Marlins pitcher Sean West, who opened the season at Double-A Jacksonville, lasted 4 2-3 innings in his 10th big league start. He allowed five runs and nine hits, walked four and struck out one.

Marlins manager Fredi Gonzalez said West will be sent back to the minors to improve his curveball and changeup. He expressed optimism that West would return to the majors.

"He just needs to work on stuff," Gonzalez said. "Here's a young kid that, it's a diamond in the rough. He's not polished. We're asking him to compete at the major league level with one weapon — it's a fastball."
