He's not faster than a speeding bullet nor is he more powerful than a locomotive but Laurence Leavy has been a big part of the 2014 World Series.
Leavy, the self-proclaimed "Marlins Man" has been up-front and center during every World Series game thus far. This is nothing new for Leavy who has been seen in years past at big sporting events including the NBA Finals. The one constant for Leavy is the Miami Marlins red-orange alternate jersey he dons daily.
The local attorney was also present for the deciding game of the ALCS when the Kansas City Royals punched their ticket to this World Series. He could be seen right behind home plate standing out in a sea of blue.
People around the world have taken notice of Leavy at the games and at one brief point, "Marlins" was even trending worldwide on Twitter during that ALCS clincher. Leavy's appearances have led to several stories both locally and nationally as more people take notice of his consistent attendance.
During Friday's World Series game, Leavy found himself making more headlines when he gave his seat up to Steven Powell of the U.S. Navy. Powell had just finished his rendition during the 7th inning stretch which was marred by some early audio issues. Leavy on his Twitter account let it be known that he did this as a thank you for Powell's service.

Leavy is a season ticket holder for the Marlins and he even has a custom car based on the team. The car features the colors of the Marlins along with a drawing of Billy The Marlin and the Marlins logo on the side.

It's likely that Leavy will be sitting behind homeplate again during the 2015 World Series wherever it is played. The Marlins hope that Leavy will just take a short drive to Marlins Park next October. With the team expected to improve a roster that was in contention into September, "Marlins Man" could possibly continue his annual tradition from the comforts of home.
