Perhaps the Marlins went into the game overconfident after scoring a record 10 runs against the Diamondbacks in a single-inning Thursday night, handing Arizona its worst blown lead in its history in a 14-7 whalloping.

Because on Friday night, the Marlins were unable to score a single run against the Diamondbacks, who shut them out 8-0.

With All-Star Dan Haren on the mound, the Diamondacks kept the Marlins to only four hits. He was so dominant that Hanley Ramirez, whose .348 batting average leads the NL, did not get the ball out of the infield in four at-bats. Ramirez went 1-for-4 with an infield single.

The Marlins continue the four-game series against the Diamondbacks tonight and tomorrow.
