Miami Marlins players Giancarlo Stanton and Dee Gordon were both named as starters for the 2015 All-Star Game on Sunday.

This marks the first time in franchise history that Miami has had two players voted into the All-Star Game. The votes came from fans around the world, and it speaks volumes of the popularity and production of Gordon and Stanton.

Gordon currently leads all of baseball in hits, and has been a consistent spark plug at the top of Miami's everyday lineup. The second baseman has brought excitement to the team, and has opened eyes across baseball with his play. This is the second straight All-Star appearance for Gordon, who made the game as a member of the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2014.

Stanton was already on the map as one of baseball's brightest stars. The slugger started last year's game as the designated hitter and also put on a show in the Home Run Derby. Stanton was expected to take part in the HR Derby again this year, but will be unable to do so due to a broken hand.

The injury for Stanton will keep him off the field for the Midsummer Classic as well. Stanton may still head to Cincinnati for the pregame lineups and festivities. The outfielder has been named an All-Star three times in his career, but had not been voted in by fans until this year's ballot.

There is a slight possibility that there could be more Marlins in Cincinnati for the All-Star Game. The National League reserves will be announced on Monday, and Stanton's roster spot will also need a replacement named for it.

The 2015 All-Star Game will take place on Tuesday, July 14th.
