Marlins Take Third Straight

The Marlins beat the Phillies on Monday for a third consecutive win on their road trip

The Miami Marlins were winners of a third straight game with their 5-3 victory over the Philadelphia Phillies on Monday.

The win came in Philadelphia against one of the teams ahead of Miami. With this win, the Marlins are now only a half-game behind the Phillies. Miami remains in fourth place in the National League East.

The Marlins had seven extra-base hits with two leaving the yard. Christian Yelich doubled twice and now has 12 two-base hits this year. In addition, Yelich picked up his 19th run batted in of the year. Adeiny Hechavarria also had a pair of doubles to give him five on the season. 

Justin Bour homered for the seventh time this season to give him 19 RBI. Marcell Ozuna also hit his seventh blast of the season and now has 20 RBI. The HR for Ozuna extended his hitting streak to 16 games.

Adam Conley gave up eight hits in his start, but he worked around them to allow only one run. Conley struck out five and walked one while improving to 3-2 on the season.

In the ninth, A.J. Ramos allowed the first two hitters to reach base before completing his 12th save of the season.

The Marlins will be looking for a fourth win in a row when they have Wei-Yin Chen make a start on Tuesday.
