Less than 24 hours after Roger Mason, Jr. revealed that Miami Heat superstar LeBron James would boycott next season if Donald Sterling was still the owner of the Los Angeles Clippers; Mason is now backtracking on his comments.
Mason told Showtime’s Jim Rome in an interview to air Wednesday night that LeBron “ain’t playing if Sterling is still an owner,” next season. However, Wednesday afternoon Mason took to Twitter to try to “clear it up.
Jim asked me about guys playing next season if Sterling remained an owner. I mentioned I spoke to LBJ as I speak to many players. — Roger Mason Jr (@MoneyMase) May 14, 2014
My bad if I was not clear.LBJ never said anything about boycotting. He's a friend and I would never want to imply something he didn't say — Roger Mason Jr (@MoneyMase) May 14, 2014
The bottom line is that our commissioner, team owners, fans, players, and the world all agree that there is no place for racism in our league. — Roger Mason Jr (@MoneyMase) May 14, 2014

Showtime is still scheduled to air the show where Mason claims the opposite of what he said on Twitter. LeBron hasn’t commented on the situation, but is expected to talk to the media preceding Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals Wednesday night.
