Miami Dolphins Sign Third-Round Pick Billy Turner

The Miami Dolphins will have their full roster of draft picks when training camp begins next week. The Fins announced Friday that it had signed third-round draft pick Billy Turner.

The offensive lineman was a four-year starter for the North Dakota State Bison and a two-time Football Championship Subdivision All-American. Turner stands 6’6” and weighs north of 313 pounds. He played left tackle for the Bison in college.

But, the Dolphins are set at the tackle position and Turner could be moving inside to guard. He could push for a starting position at the left guard position. Turner’s primary competition to get into the starting lineup at guard looks to be Shelley Smith and Dallas Thomas.

If Turner shows the same nasty streak that he played with at North Dakota State in training camp and the preseason; the Dolphins may have a quality starter along the line to go along with left tackle Branden Albert.
