The Miami Heat announced Friday the formal unveiling of its 2013 NBA Playoffs promotional campaign. Once again, the team is going "White Hot" for the playoffs, re-establishing the color white as the focal point for all playoff-related activities.
The color white will serve as a community-wide rallying point; something everyone in South Florida can get behind and participate in. White will not only be the color fans wear to the game, it will become a recognizable symbol of support for the Heat in all daily activities, particularly Heat Playoff game dates. The presenting sponsor of White Hot is Miccosukee Resort & Gaming.
Heat fans worldwide are encouraged to use the hashtag #WhiteHotHEATFan as they prepare for the playoffs. All images tagged with the #WhiteHotHEATFan hashtag will automatically be uploaded to a #WhiteHotHEATFan microsite, presented by Adidas and hosted on WhiteHotHEAT.com.
"White Hot has carried us to two NBA Championships," said Eric Woolworth, President of The Heat Group's Business Operations. "Miami Heat fans from all around the world do such an incredible job of representing White Hot both fashionably and passionately. They have embraced the concept of the color-themed playoffs and bring the campaign to life like no other city can."
The AmericanAirlines Arena as well as select areas throughout South Florida will undergo a White Hot transformation with graphical elements scheduled for installation on Wednesday, April 17. These installation elements include the AmericanAirlines Arena, the Miami Heat Store, and various parking garages at the arena.
Additionally, the InterContinental Hotel at 100 Chopin Plaza in Miami will unveil Heat-branded silhouettes and logos as part of the InterContinental Miami Digital Canvas animation, which will continue throughout the 2013 Playoff run.
The Suniland basketball courts in Pinecrest will be rebranded with White Hot Heat graphics, Bayside Marketplace will unfurl special White Hot Heat flags, Select Metro Movers will be wrapped in White Hot Heat branding, The Sun Sports Heat Fan Express Bus will be re-branded with White Hot Heat imagery, a Heat basketball court graphic will be prominently displayed at Mary Brickell Village, and Fort Lauderdale’s Broward Financial Center will display a large White Hot Heat banner on the exterior of the parking garage.
The team also announced Friday that Heat broadcast partner Sun Sports will air all first round playoff games made available for local team broadcast. Home and road telecasts will begin with a special half hour edition of Heat Live, the pre-game show hosted by Jorge Sedano and John Crotty live from the Sun Sports studios in Fort Lauderdale.
Each telecast will also feature extended post-game coverage live from site. Eric Reid will handle play-by-play duties, with Tony Fiorentino providing color commentary and analysis. Jason Jackson will reprise his role as HEAT Television Host and Courtside Reporter.
The NBA Playoffs begin Saturday, April 20, with the Heat's first-round opener against the Milwaukee Bucks coming on that day or April 21. The NBA will announce full first-round schedules later this week.
