Miami Hurricanes' 2014 Football Schedule Unveiled

The season begins where the last one ended, with a matchup against the Louisville Cardinals

The Miami Hurricanes football team will open its 2014 season on Sept. 1 in Louisville, where they will try to get even with the Cardinals after they beat the ‘Canes in the 2013 Russell Athletic Bowl.

The University of Miami squad’s season schedule, unveiled Wednesday, includes that matchup on Labor Day night at 8 p.m. on ESPN – as well as seven home games at Sun Life Stadium.

The Cardinals vanquished the Hurricanes 36-9 in the Russell Athletic Bowl last month in Orlando. Miami finished the season 9-4. It made its first bowl appearance since 2010 following a two-year, self-imposed ban during an NCAA investigation.

The upcoming Cardinals matchup will also be the Hurricanes’ first Atlantic Coast Conference game, as Louisville joins the ACC on July 1.

Several nonconference games follow, with home games versus Florida A&M (Sept. 6) and Arkansas State (Sept. 13), followed by a visit to the Nebraska Cornhuskers on Sept. 20.

The Hurricanes will also host ACC games against Duke (Sept. 27), North Carolina (Nov. 1), Florida State (Nov. 15) and Pittsburgh (Nov. 29), and a nonconference game against Cincinnati on Oct. 11.

Miami’s additional road games are at their ACC opponents Georgia Tech (Oct. 4), Virginia Tech (Oct. 23) and Virginia (Nov. 22).
