University of Florida star quarterback Tim Tebow was taken to the hospital by ambulance after sustaining a hard hit to the head in a game against rival the University of Kentucky Saturday night.
Tebow's Florida Gators were on Kentucky turf when Kentucky defensive end Taylor Wyndham knocked Tebow to the ground, causing the Florida QB's head to hit the leg of fellow Gator Marcus Gilbert and render Tebow unconscious.
The 2007 Heisman Trophy winner was immediately hauled to the sidelines and appeared to be vomiting as special aides carried his body off the field.
Tebow had already rushed for 123 yards in the game, which he started in despite respiratory issues that caused him and several other teammates to take a separate plane to Lexington, Ky., the day before the game.
There was no immediate report on Tebow's condition.
